Apple New iPad
Well the iPad 3 or, err, the new iPad as it was dubbed has been announced and is set to be released March 16. This new naming convention will set the precedent for future Apple products before the generational denotor in their product names gets out of hand. You don't buy a Macintosh 18 now do you? Well, anyways, I thnk this is a good step for Apple to take and probably would have been wiser to have been taken with the release of the iPhone 4S, having it named the new iPhone instead. This probably would have quelled the anger of those waiting for the iPhone 5. Sadly though, the iPhone 5 will never exist if this naming convention continues, as the next generation iPhone will simply be the new iPhone. Besides the naming convention though, what has changed in this new iPad? Well, realistically, not much. The processes er has received a bump to the A5X but it's still dual core. However, it boasts quad- core graphics and sports a better camera. The most sellable new feature of course, is the new Retina display. It is quite impressive, boasting over 3 million pixels on a 10 inch screen. This is more than any HDTV and more than any other mobile device. Impressive indeed. Whether this is enough to make this a worthy upgrade from the iPad 2 though,is debatable. Probably not though. If you have an iPad 1 or have yet to buy a tablet though, the new iPad is a definite, obvious choice.

Time is a valuable thing
I have recently realized the value and power of time. As the old saying goes, "time is money," which is very apparent to those receiving hourly wages, where time physically manifests itself with monetary compensation. However, time is much more than that. It is a non-renewable resource that imprisons us all. We are confined to schedules containing classes, meetings, times to eat and etc.
But we do not realize that in a way, we have been able to subdue even the mighty time to the order of man. As fleeting as it is, we humans have controlled time, well at least enough that we can benefit from it.
Many of us fail to realize that one of the most powerful instruments invented might actually be sitting atop your wrist this very moment. What is it you ask? Well, you probably already guessed but it is none other than your very watch. The ability to tell time is a crucial aspect of our world in modern society. Beyond that though, back in the days before people were able to accurately measure time, it was not taken so lightly.
This can be seen in the British navy during the 18th century. They had massive devices on their ships that allowed to tell time fairly accurately. This was pivotal in their dominance as it allowed them to use a sextant for navigation so that they could know where they were on the ocean. Their enemies were less fortunate and unable to wield time and thus the British empire rose to substantial power.

What's in a name?
So first off, I'd thought I would introduce myself. This is my first blog and I hope to get some reader interest. A little bit about myself...I'm an amateur photographer who is interested in all things related to science, technology and gaming. Here in my blog, I want to provide some insight and commentary on the things I enjoy.
Well, let's get down to business. I am iSonicPhoton. Why such a bizarre name, right? There is a method to this madness as you will see. First, the i refers to the technological aspect, specifically Apple. I do love Apple products, but I am not one of those terrible fanboys. My main laptop is actually an HP Pavilion in case you were interested. Next, sonic and photon refer to the scientist in me, as I am a biochemistry student at the University of Notre Dame. Furthermore though, they refer to sound and light, which are my main emphasis. Music is at the heart of what I enjoy, hence, sonic. Photon refers to photographs and videos, which are also very important to me. I have a YouTube channel dedicated to this sound and light if you would like to check it out.
I hope to capture some glorious moments in the world and share it. Well, that is it for now. If you're interested follow me below.
